Is 40 Too Old for Dating?
People can’t stop wondering if 40 is too old for dating, mostly because of the myth that this age bracket is marked as “over the hill”, but let’s face it – sometimes things are better late than never. Is there any truth to the stories that say once you turn 35 or older, men lose interest in you?
Let’s find out. The rule states that it is acceptable for 30-year-old women to date men who are up to 46 years old, but in reality, 30-year-old women state that their max acceptable partner age would be less than 40. The same can be stated about men since they have a lower ave rage age of desired partners between 30 and 35 years old. According to statistics, men are understanding that their chance of getting a woman in her 20s is lower than ever so they start looking for women in next age brackets instead. Is this rule applicable to other countries or it’s just an Australian thing?
Is 40 too old for dating should have never been considered as taboo since there are more issues that concern woman at this point – life itself, health, looks etc. The dating the problem lies within the fact that people actually believe this “rule” because everyone has different preferences when it comes to relationships and age.
From a female’s perspective: No! Of course not! Dating would only be an issue if you both didn’t share any interest and goals in life. The reason why many men date women 30 years younger than themselves is because most men actually can’t handle a woman who is their equal or has more experience in life. Is Is there anything wrong with showing your age? Quite frankly, no! It’s all about compatibility and having something to talk about – the age difference doesn’t really matter as long as it’s not 10 years plus.
Male’s perspective: Is it ever okay to date someone younger than yourself? This question may be hard to answer but quite often than not, the answer is no. Is there anything wrong with dating someone who has a decade difference than you and still be happy and in love? This would all depend on your partner’s maturity level, their goals in life and how much they’ve grown up so far. It isn’t really about the age itself but more of whether or not these two people can keep up with each other. As long as you don’t become a father figure to your partner’s children, nothing should stop you from having an amazing relationship full of adventure and passion.
