Chacho’s is a bar with a tequila-heavy cocktail list. The Silk and Smoke is complex but fresh, with smoke-infused grapefruit mezcal, lime and house-made basil agave.
The Espresso Mariachi mixes Patron XO Café with vanilla and mint, and there’s a crackling fire to enjoy outside on the decking in good weather. The food menu has appetizers like Chacho’s Nachos (a combo of tortilla chips, cheese sauce, guacamole), tacos (fish or pork).
Galah is a bar, restaurant and music venue in the heart of Windsor. The space has a five-metre high ceiling, velvet booths and an outdoor courtyard with orange trees.
There’s also plenty of good food including dishes from chef Anthony Smith (ex-Rockpool). The drinks menu features cocktails by co-owner Steph Mauer (ex-Bird Watching Society) that are inspired by different eras in Australian history.
Lover is a smallish, roped-off cocktail lounge with a kitchen. It`s on the Windsor end of Chapel Street and it does not open until late in the evening.
The cocktails are served by waitresses dressed in long skirts and white gloves. Ornate chandeliers hang from high ceilings and birdcages sit on the bar countertop. Crystal shards glint off gold-roped bollards that line one wall, while curtains of dizzying length stretch across another.
