The Corner Hotel is home to one of Melbourne’s most celebrated live music venues. The band room has hosted some of the world’s biggest music stars, including Mick Jagger, David Gilmour, The White Stripes, Ben Harper, Crowded House and Queens of the Stone Age. With its rowdy atmosphere and 800-person capacity, the Corner is sure to have something for everyone.
The Richmond Rooftop Bar is a great place to take in the views of Melbourne. The rooftop bar has been renovated in early 2017, and it now features a kitchen that opens late on Fridays and Saturdays for a post-show bite. Patti Smith beef burger is a textbook cheeseburger with an Angus beef patty topped with melted American cheese, tomato, lettuce and pickles.
The menu includes share plates, pub classics, and desserts. Head Chef Shannon Rice has created an inventive menu that includes house-made charcuterie, crispy chicken parma, and sticky date pudding.
Sip on cocktails while enjoying delicious food from the rooftop bar menu. The menu features meaty mains like the smoked pork hock and whole Korean fried chicken come with complete sides (braised potatoes, sauerkraut and gravy for the former, kimchi, pickled cucumber and milk buns).
The pub features a rotating beer list, as well as classic favourites like Carlton, Melbourne Bitter and Peroni. Soak up the sun on the rooftop terrace or take in the views of Richmond while you sip on your favourite brew.
The Corner Hotel Richmond has been a live music venue since the 1940s, and current owners Tim Northeast and Mathew Everett (who are also involved in the Northcote Social Club) have been at the helm since 1995. The team of Northeast, Everett and head booker Chris Coxon have created one of Melbourne’s most iconic music venues, with a strong focus on local artists.
The Corner Hotel is a must-visit for any music lover – it offers stunning views of Melbourne’s skyline, as well as top-notch tunes courtesy of some of the best local and international talent.
