Almay Jordaan is the head chef drawing on her upbringing on a farm outside of Cape Town, South Africa, Almay creates seasonal menus that celebrate fresh, local produce. You’ll enjoy dishes like slow-cooked lamb shoulder with apricot and almond couscous, or pan-fried salmon with herb butter and crispy capers. Pair your meal with a glass of wine from the comprehensive list, or choose from one of the signature cocktails.

Their wine list has interesting, unique, boutique wines that you won’t find anywhere else. Curated by Simon Denman, an award-winning sommelier with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He’s sourced wines from all corners of the globe, highlighting different regions, varieties and vintages.

Neighbourhood wine bar is all about championing wines of a more minimal intervention, lo-fi approach. They believe this allows the provenance and vintage of the wine to shine through. This practice of working with an international range of artisanal winemakers who typically produce wine in smaller quantities, allows the flexibility to create a diverse and dynamic list.

The rustic floorboards, dimly lit lounge rooms and club house feel make it the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a drink. Diners sit at cosy wooden tables or along the long, wide, candle-lit bar which frames the open kitchen to one side and the rows of 60s and 70s jazz and blues records on high rotation.

Coffin Bay oysters are served with a delicious red wine and shallot vinaigrette, while the meat is slow cooked and juicy. You can finish sweetly with a house-made chocolate ├ęclair with espresso. It`s the perfect place to relax and catch up with friends.
