Eau-de-Vie is a Melbourne cocktail bar, hidden behind a book case. The Whisky Room is home to a large collection of rare and exclusive whiskies, as well as Bottle Lockers, where you can purchase your favourite spirit bottle and store it for your next visit.
The Melbourne bar is straight out of the 1920’s prohibition America, and from the moment you walk in you are taken back to a much forgotten era. Once inside you can sit up at the bar, at one of our shared high tables, at low banquette and coffee table seating, or a more intimate and private booth.
Eau-de-Vie Library is a degustation bar, cocktail lounge and private event space. They offer a range of experiences from whisky tastings to five course degustation’s with cocktails. The library provides an intimate setting for groups of up to 16 guests or can be booked exclusively for larger corporate or private events.

The degustation menu is the perfect way to experience everything the bar has to offer. You’ll enjoy a five-course meal paired with cocktails designed by some of the best bartenders in the business.
The Melbourne branch of Sven Almenning’s World Class drinking venue Eau De Vie is the product of this serendipitous meeting. The kitchen is headed by Mark Favaloro (most recently from the kitchens of Movida), who has devised a concise and playful menu that takes full advantage of the venue’s two-story layout and open kitchen.
Downstairs, you can sit at the bar and watch the bartenders in action as they create cocktails with ingredients like lavender honey, applewood smoke and rare Japanese whisky.
